Work at Home Jobs

Some companies do now charge for a background check.

This is not necessarily a sign of a scam, but it is quite disappointing to see companies charging potential employees for something that ought to be a cost of doing business. However, the only companies listed here that do charge such a fee have also proven to pay regularly.

Post your resume on HotJobs.com today!

Are you looking for a work at home job rather than a home business opportunity? You've found the spot to start looking.

To the best of my knowledge, these are all legitimate. If you find one to be a scam, let me know immediately. It will be removed from this page promptly. If you know of a legitimate opportunity that is not on this page, send it in. Not all companies will be hiring at this time.

In most cases, I do not recommend you pay for job lead websites. Too many simply fail to keep their list updated. However, I have found Telework Recruiting to be an exception to that rule. The owner does an excellent job and even has employers come to her to look for employees. The jobs are screened, and the fee is for lifetime access.

Surveys

Note: Surveys may or may not pay. Most will pay only in points towards a drawing. They aren't really jobs, but it seems like people like to try them anyhow.

Yahoo! User research - This one pays $
American Consumer Opinion - Points toward monthly drawings
MBS - Incentives may be cash, gift certificates or product samples
Opinion Outpost - Earn points toward cash and prizes
Safety 1st - I don't know anything about pay, but they offer focus groups, surveys and product testing.

Start Out with a Smart Choice to Work at Home
Most of us are pretty smart in our day to day lives. We don’t go plunging into just anything without thinking about it first. Yet too many people do exactly that when they decide to work at home. They plunge into the first opportunity that makes the promises they most want to hear, without really [...]

Skill Building for the New Year
Happy New Year! I’ve been thinking on things I can do to help my readers in this new year, and one thing that came to mind is skill building. So many families are dealing with money problems, or facing the possibility of money problems, that now is a great time to really focus on coping. For some, [...]

Countdown to Christmas
Somehow I don’t anticipate spending much time online this week. It’s Christmastime and time to relax with the family. Are you taking a break too? I got a lot done yesterday, but there’s still more to be done. No doubt most important to my kids on that list is making Christmas cookies. They like to make chocolate [...]

Why I Don’t Write a “To 10 Work at Home Jobs” List
One thing I see a lot of work at home sites do is offer a “top 10″ list of work at home jobs. I’ve never written one and never intend to. Why? 1. Most lists call “work at home opportunities” “work at home jobs.” Too many of these lists merely add to the confusion many job seekers have [...]

Working at Home with a Toddler While Pregnant
Life has been interesting during this pregnancy for me. It’s rather draining for one thing. Adding in some rather severe hip pain due to the way things are loosening up in preparation for childbirth doesn’t help. Neither does the sweet clinginess of my 3 year old son. Not that I really like to complain about that [...]

Keeping Your Ethics as You Work at Home
Much as it would be nice to think otherwise, there are a lot of ethical considerations to working at home. There are quite simply a ton of work at home scams out there, and many people have no problem with promoting them, in the hopes that they will profit. What happens to others doesn’t matter [...]

Are There Any Shortcuts for Working at Home?
With the holiday season gearing up and many families having their incomes drop down due to layoffs and rough economic times, I’m seeing a lot more people looking for quick answers for ways to work from home and bring in extra money. Sometimes they don’t care what it takes; they’ll take any shot they can [...]

Holiday Family Time Vs. Working at Home
‘Tis the season… to go a little crazy. With all the family events, how do you balance having fun for the holidays with working at home? Some things are pretty obvious. I mean, unless you have a work at home job that won’t give you the holiday off for some reason, you can just choose not [...]
